BHM 640var.
53mm. Silver. 40.57g. Unsigned.
Obverse with uniformed bust of Nelson, reverse with pseudo-masonic symbols with eye, sun and ark and rainbow.
Pierced for suspension otherwise Good Extremely Fine with very pretty toning. A rare medal and one of the prettiest examples we have seen.
The Nelsonic Crimson Oakes appears to have been a social organization. Though not directly related to the Masonic Order, their symbols dare certainly similar, and no doubt there was much overlap in the groups' members. They appear to have dissolved in 1927.
