Obverse showing bust of Prince Albert and the reverse showing the classic depiction of St George slaying the dragon. A wonderfully styled medal.
Only Good Very Fine and once cleaned but extremely rare. It has been suggested that these medals may have been presented by Prince Albert himself.
BHM states that 50 medals were struck, although the metals are not recorded. BHM also states that the Prince intended to present gold medals to 11 people, which suggests a remaining total of 39 medals in silver and bronze.
