Obverse with veiled bust of Victoria, reverse with young head portrait. The medal is assumed to be silver and gilt, due to some toning on the reverse side. It is suspended within glass lunettes that can spin, within a 15 carat gold mount that has 4 brilliant stones. The total weight is 21.67 grams with the average weight of the silver medals usually being around 9.5 grams.
