Extremely Fine and very rare.
In her book John Smart: The Man and His Miniatures, Daphne Foskett writes “A medal bearing his portrait, modelled by Joachim Smith and cut by John Kirk, of which there are several versions, was struck in 1777, no doubt to celebrate the year he became Vice-President. At least two silver medals are known to exist, one engraved on the back 'September 22, 1798'.”
