Eimer 1903a, BHM 3960.
63mm. Gilt bronze. By F. Bowcher.
Obverse with a winged female figure of peace standing over two seated figures, reverse with a female figure standing, holding a plaque engraved 'Maynards Ltd'.
Toned and with the name of the awardee partially scratched out. A couple of edge nicks otherwise Extremely Fine. Housed in fitted and named case but with the exterior stamped 'Japan-British Exhibition - 1910'. It is likely that Maynards also won a medal at that exhibiton and the two cases were mixed up over the years.
Maynards was a British confectionery manufacturer best known for manufacturing wine gums. It was acquired by Cadbury in the 1990’s.
