Obverse with catholic cross and 'SEDES SAPIENTIAE' around it. Reverse surrounded by 'Catholic University Literary, Historical and Aesthetical Society'. Engraved and named to Ignatius J O'Brien for Oratory, Session 1876-77.

Cleaned and pierced for suspension otherwise Nearly Extremely Fine and rare.

Ignatius John O'Brien (1857-1930) was an Irish lawyer and politician who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland between 1913 and 1918. At the age of 16 he entered the Catholic University of Ireland in Dublin but left after two years due to family circumstances.
