Obverse with a rather magnificent portrait of Elizabeth I in ghihgly detailed dress. The design relates to the 1591 grant by Queen Elizabeth I to erect a college at Dublin, the founding of Trinity. Awarded in 1899 to R.T Ross (Bow), a member of the Waterford Rowing Club team that won the years Dublin University Boat Club Regatta.

This is the first of these medals we have seen used as a rowing prize. Bright due to past cleaning otherwise Good Very Fine and rare.
