Struck to commemorate the 25th wedding anniversary of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Obverse with pair of Ho-O (Japanese phoenix) birds holding chrysanthemums and wisteria in their beaks, imperial crest above, and garlands around, reverse with 9 lines of vertical Japanese text translating to 'The 27th year of Meiji, 9th March'.
About Uncirculated with fresh surfaces and housed in contemporary fitted case (the latch is loose and the inner insert is loose). A most attractive medal.
