Double obverse 'pattern'. Recorded by Peck but of the highest rarity. This coin is not two halves of a coin stuck together but rather a deliberate striking.
This type was missing from the Dr Nicholson collection and the only other example we can find is an example currently listed by Baldwins at a price of £2,750.
Fine with an even tone.
